3. Security Deposit

3.1 A refundable security deposit of £1000 is required 1 day before the rental period begins.

3.2 The security deposit will be returned to the renter within 7 days after the return of the vehicle.  This allows for any loss, damage, fines or penalties to be received and identified.  Breakage charges and any other costs will be charged at the owner’s discretion due to inconvenience and potential loss of revenue.

3.3 In the event  the vehicle is returned with damage, the security deposit will not be refunded until the repair has been completed  and any difference in costs can then be returned to the renter.

3.4 A £150 excess charge will be deducted from the security deposit for any damage to the windscreen whilst on hire.

4. Insurance

4.1 The vehicle hire charge includes Comprehensive vehicle insurance cover underwritten by Allianz. You are insured under the terms of the policy against any liability loss or damage that occurs during the period specified in your rental agreement.

4.2 Note that a £1000 excess is applicable for all claims for hirers aged between 25-75.

4.3 Renter and passenger's personal belongings are not covered by our insurance policy.

4.4 Neither the owner nor the insurance provider are responsible for any loss or damage to any of the renter's or passenger's personal possessions.

4.8 Should the insurance policy become invalidated for any reason, you will be held responsible for all costs, third party costs and liabilities, and agree to indemnify the company from all liability.

4.9 For any damage incurred during the rental period, the owner has complete choice as to where the repairs are carried and by whom.

What to do if you have an accident.

You must STOP at the scene of an accident.  You must exchange details with the other party involved.

If you have an accident you must not admit responsibility.

You should:

Ensure you get the names, addresses, phone and email address of everyone involved, including witnesses and the attending police officers if applicable.

Take note of the exact location of the accident and if possible (and safe to do so) please take photos of all vehicles involved and the surrounding environment, road signs and markings.

Notify the other parties of the insurance policy, a copy of which can be found in the vehicle documentation folder.

Make the vehicle secure - if safe to do so.

Inform Daze-Away as soon as possible so they can advise the insurance provider.

Ensure you get a copy of the accident report from the police.

7.2 Collection is from Purley, Surrey, CR8 4DD.

7.3 Street parking is offered to the Renter near our premises for the duration of the Rental Period at the Renter's own risk.

7.4 Please allow up to 45 minutes for the hand-over of the campervan to complete documentation.

7.5 A late collection fee of £100 will be applicable for delays of more than 1 hour unless prior agreement has been made by Daze-Away on the day of return.

8. Return

8.1 Return of the vehicle is between 9am -10am on the last day of the rental period.  Drop off is at the same address as collection.

8.2 The vehicle is only insured for the agreed rental period.  As such, after the agreed drop off time the renter will be driving without insurance which is an offence under The Road Traffic Act.

8.3 The owner and renter should do a joint 'return inspection' of the vehicle on drop off.  If faults and damage is discovered after the renter has departed, photos will be taken and emailed to the renter immediately.

8.4 No refund is given for early return of the vehicle.

8.5 The hirer must advise Daze-Away if they are delayed. Should late return of the vehicle or damage to the vehicle result in delays to other rentals or other costs, the owner reserves the right to pass these costs onto the renter in full. A late return fee of £100 will be applicable for delays of more than 1 hour unless prior agreement has been made by Daze-Away on the day of return.

9 Availability

9.1 While every effort is made to ensure that the vehicle reserved is available at the agreed time and date, if due to circumstances beyond our control, the reserved vehicle is not available, we reserve the right to return money paid by the Renter in full with no further liability. We will not be held responsible nor be liable for any consequential, special or additional costs you have incurred including but not limited to the cost of flights, train tickets, hotel accommodation or car hire.

9.2 Occasionally, vehicles are returned damaged and if the damage is too great for us to repair on time we may need to offer a substitute vehicle. If this is not acceptable to the Renter, or if no other vehicle is available, then the liability of Daze-Away is limited to the refund of money paid by the Renter to Daze-Away. Renters are strongly advised to insure against unavoidable cancellation.

10. Cancellations

10.3 For cancellations made less than 4 weeks prior to the collection date, the customer will be liable for the full rental amount.

10.4 We may cancel the Rental Agreement at any time before the Delivery Date if we are unable to supply the Vehicle on the Delivery Date or at the Delivery Time due to any circumstances beyond our reasonable control (including the failure of a prior hirer to return the Vehicle when it should have been returned and any mechanical or other failure of or defect in the Vehicle).

If we cancel the Rental Agreement under the previous clause we shall refund to you any amount you have already paid to us in relation to that Rental Agreement but otherwise we have no further liability to you as a result of such cancellation.

11. Miscellaneous Charges
